Welcome to OEA Grow’s sixth season, focusing on Student-Centered Curriculum. Our host for season six is educator and leader, Jenoge Khatter. Jenoge is a Social Studies Specialist and Representative Assembly Delegate for Eugene Education Association. This season Jenoge is going to talk with a variety of educators from all over the state. His experience as a teacher and educator-leader will manifest conversations with insight, humor and practical tips for Oregon educators.
As we listen to Jenoge’s conversations about student-centered curriculum, his passion and experience around keeping students at the center of teaching will resonate. As a social studies teacher at Roosevelt Middle School in Eugene, Jenoge focused on civic engagement. His instructional curriculum and planning resulted from students voting on what to learn about. This experience of student-led instruction energized him and motivated him to see how teaching can change society and the world at large. His conversations with educators and leaders from around the state will inspire and empower us to continue the work of student-centered instruction.
Listen in as we learn from Jenoge and his guests about student-centered curriculum and how it can positively impact Oregon students and classrooms.
